What is the problem that needs to be solved?
Contingency management is the most scientifically proven method for treating Substance Use Disorder and Alcohol Use Disorder. But it's criminally underutilized.
DynamiCare is a digital care program that patients can access through an app on their phone, either as a standalone or in partnership with their other ongoing recovery treatments. The app connects you with a personal Recovery Coach and reinforces abstinence and other recovery behaviors with immediate financial rewards that are proven to facilitate long term recovery.
Over the past four years, I've been responsible for the maintenance of the existing application and first party provider platform, along with the the creation of any new features.

The DynamiCare First Party Platform
This server is the way in which providers can check in on their patients, schedule appointments, and administer rewards. Here are some of my favorite features.
Automated Shipments
Problem Space:
After analysis of routine feedback from our clients and internal staff, it was apparent that ordering supplies for patients was a huge point of frustration.
For example: To order a saliva test, a provider would have to email a member of our internal team with the patient's information, and a detailed list of what testing supplies were needed. From there, a team member would place the order manually on a third party platform. Then the original provider would need to be notified, and provided with the tracking information. This process was clunky, prone to human error, and an unnecessary time suck.
Opportunities and Prioritization:
Create a feature that allows for providers to place orders for their patients and stay up to date on the status of said order at every step in the process.

The Final Solution:
A seamless ordering and tracking process for supplies that utilizes an API integration to deliver up to date, completely accurate data to the provider on the order's status.

Sites and Protocols
Problem Space:
Many DynamiCare clients are large entities (and or "payers") that have many different treatment sites/branches under their larger umbrella. Previously, DynamiCare only offered singular "programs", in which the settings had to be uniform. Because of this, if a payer wanted patients at different sites to have slightly different settings (for example: slightly more frequent drug testing), they would have to create an entirely new program. These programs could not be connected to each other and therefore were difficult and tedious to track. Plus, it meant a new program had to be created from scratch every time, even if only one small change needed to be made.
Opportunities and Prioritization:
Overhaul the program setup to allow for multiple sites. According to user input, it was essential that:

These interviews and my research gave me a clear direction for how I could improve the usability of the site moving forward.
Opportunities and Prioritization:
Create an app that allows users to find restrooms near them that fit their criteria through community sourcing and public data bases. Users will also be able to save restrooms for future reference, and add new restrooms that do not already exist within the data base.
Based off of my research and the priorities of the users I interviewed, all bathrooms will have to be sorted by these following criteria:
